dc.descriptionAmongst others, Rudin et al [1] and Esedoglu & Osher [2] have discussed and modelled, in considerable detail, the notion of denoising that arises in images wherein the goal is ‘to remove noise from a corrupted digital image without blurring object boundaries’. Other detailed works in this regard by Osher are [3–5]. Essentially, they propose to denoise images by minimizing the total variation norm of the estimated solution.en_US
dc.description.abstractWe analyse the symmetry, invariance properties and conservation laws of the partial differential equations (pdes) and minimization problems (variational functionals) that arise in the analyses of some noise removal algorithms.en_US
