Abstract
For decades, Saudi Arabia has demonstrated its commitment to advancing global health through innovation and collaboration. One shining example of this dedication is the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme, a beacon of medical excellence and humanitarian outreach that continues to redefine the boundaries of surgical medicine and compassionate care (Fig. 1). Since its inception in 1990, the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme, led under the patronage of the Saudi leadership has achieved remarkable success in treating one of the rarest medical conditions, occurring in approximately one in every 200,000 live births annually [1, 2]. A skilled and dedicated surgical team has successfully separated 61 pairs of conjoined twins from 21 countries and has evaluated 146 conjoined twin cases from 27 countries [3] (Box 1). These intricate procedures are carried out by multidisciplinary teams at Saudi Arabia’s premier medical institution, King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital, utilizing stateof-the-art technology and methodologies [4]. Patients come from all corners of the globe, often from underprivileged backgrounds, to receive world-class care—completely free of charge. This extraordinary endeavor not only reflects Saudi Arabia’s expertise but also underscores the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to human dignity and international solidarity. It encapsulates the Kingdom’s larger vision for global health leadership. Through its investments in medical innovation, humanitarian outreach, and international collaboration, Saudi Arabia is not just saving lives but also shaping a legacy of hope and unity
