dc.description.abstractAs the World seeks sustainable and holistic approaches to health, dietary herbs are in the spotlight due to their potential benefits. Incorporating dietary herbs into functional products to create fortified foods with enhanced nutritional values has shown health benefits. Dietary herbs and diets rich in plant-based foods and supplements have been integral to managing diseases since ancient times. In the 21st century, research advancements in dietary herbs continue to analyse and characterize bioactive compounds to develop novel herbal formulations. This case study provides an overview of the historical use of dietary herbs, highlighting their bioactive compounds and the scientific evidence of those bioactive compounds in improving health and wellness.
