dc.description.abstractA new dual U-slot single microstrip patch antenna for 5G applications is presented. The antenna slot parameters are optimized to obtain a return loss below 10dB from 26.8GHz to 30.4 GHz and a gain values ranges between 8.3dBi and 9.3dBi within the same frequency range. These figures are considerably improved as compared to other slotted single patch elements available in the literature hence, the proposed element can be potentially used to design MIMO antennas for 5G applications. keywords: 5G applications; dual U-slot patch antenna; gain improvement; return loss; wide band
