Rapid Alternative Calibration Procedure of Reverberation Chamber Using Coupling Transfer Gain Function

Abstract

This study proposes an alternative fast calibration procedure for the estimation of the well-stirred condition of the reverberation chamber (RC) using coupling transfer gain function. The novel coupling transfer current gain function of RC environment is developed using the measured two-port S-parameters. The proposed procedure involves the determination of the frequency corresponding to the well-stirred operation ( fwso) of RC through the assessment of RC EM-field distribution using high order goodness of fit tests, and checking of the requirements of the independent samples for the particular stirred environment. The proposed procedure requires a portion of time (around 30 minutes) as compared to the conventional field uniformity long RC calibration procedure.
