Abstract
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. For the agricultural sector GHG originates from production, storage, processing, packaging, transportation, and distribution, as well as crop residue burning. For the agriculture-driven land use changes GHG originates from the conversion of forest, grassland, peatland, and wetland to agricultural lands. Climate impact. Agricultural GHG emissions are responsible for a third of globally anthropogenic emissions, contributing to climate change (increased temperature, changes in precipitation patterns, intensified extreme weather events, and reduced water availability) and climate-driven socioeconomic and environmental changes.
