dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we present a smart monitoring system of vehicles using embedded controller, Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global System of Mobile (GSM). The system allows users to visualize and track the location of targeted vehicles on Google Earth. The system identifies the current position of the target using GPS and sends the location along with various parameters from vehicle's data port by Short Message Service (SMS) through GSM networks to a GSM modem that is connected to PC or laptop. The recipient of the data can view the current location and the status of each vehicle on Google Earth. This system is very useful for emergency services, i.e. crash reporting, engine statusâ ¦ etc, for fleet management, police vehicles distribution and car theft situations.en_US
