Abstract

This study has been demonstrated the potential use of Zn–Mn–Fe metal nano oxide composites for the degradation of reactive yellow 15 dye. The nanocomposites ZnO– Fe2O3–MnO2 photo-catalysts with different molar compositions were prepared by the solution method and chosen a best sample for further study. After the verification of structure using XRD, and FTIR, the effect of various parameters on the % removal of reactive yellow 15 has been studied. The maximum decolorization of reactive yellow 15 (56%) was achieved when the PH of Zn–Mn–Fe nano oxide composite was fixed 4. We have also calculated the effect of contact time on the adsorption of RY-15 with Zn– Mn–Fe metal nano oxide composites and it was found that adsorption of RY−15 increased from 27.11 to 55.93% as the contact time increased from 5 min to 110 min. Furthermore, the effect of nanocomposite dosage on the % removal of dye was also calculated and it was found that it increased from 56.89% to 74.14% when the dosage of Zn–Mn–Fe-NMOC was increased from 0.20 to 1.0 g/L. Based on the results obtained in this study, we have concluded that 76% of the Reactive yellow 15 dye was removed using our synthesized Zn–Mn–Fe nano oxide composites.
