Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between information security, technology, and intellectual property rights in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It explores the strategies public and private organizations employ to protect their intellectual property in the digital era. Using a mixed-methods approach, comprising surveys and interviews, data were collected from a diverse sample of 150 participants across sectors such as technology, finance, and healthcare. The findings reveal that although technologies like encryption and blockchain show significant promise, challenges persist, particularly regarding regulatory compliance and human factors. The research highlights significant disparities in awareness levels and underscores the importance of collaboration between government and private entities to enhance information security practices. These insights are intended to aid policymakers, industry professionals, legal experts, and researchers in understanding the nuances of intellectual property protection, technology, and security within the UAE's rapidly evolving digital landscape.
