As heavy trucks traverse a rough road surface they respond dynamically. The trucks, due to their flexibility, vibrate as the road surface imposes excitation displacements at each wheel. In this paper, the truck ride problems are discussed. The role of mathematical modelling and analytical techniques in exploring the causes and evaluating the solutions of truck/road dynamics problems are reviewed. Areas where further work is required are highlighted.en_US
