Abstract

The rapidly growing population has demanded an improved methodology to increase the agricultural output. The use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has detained off human health and posed a risk to the environment. Nanotechnological advancements have led to the development of sophisticated techniques to improve the growth and yield of crop plants while protecting the environment from detrimental impacts. Nanoformulations can be used to develop nanopeptides and nanofertilizers for increased nutrient absorption, protection of plants from pathogens, and plant disease management. Nanotechnology would not only enable crop improvement but would also improve food harvesting, transport, and storage. Thus, nanopesticides and nanofertilizers can be a key to a better environment and human healthcare.
