dc.description.abstractIn this paper, a new maximum power point tracking algorithm with adaptive step size have been proposed. Since wave energy is the upcoming resource for energy production, an appropriate algorithm which overcome the challenges of the conventional model based control strategies will make drastic changes in the energy production. This adaptive maximum power point tracking algorithm is implemented in heaving wave energy converters. The proposed algorithm is compared with the conventional perturb and observe algorithm. The simulation results using the new algorithm exhibits better results than the perturb and observe algorithm. Simulations are done in Matlab/Simulink software.en_US
