| dc.description.abstract | A long-term characteristic of the air transport system is a continuously growing number of travellersall around the world. There are major problems inherently related to this still emerging number of passengers on airports and within aircraft: On the one hand the vulnera-bility of the system against crime has to be minimized, and, on the other hand, automation of existing and new services has to be maximized to cope with this growth process at reasonable cost.Theapproach for solving this challenge is the harmonization and digitization of the air-port and aircraft cabin processes by introducing a universal digital process key. This process key, functioning as a secure token, enables the passenger to fulfill the required nteractionswithin the full range of travelusing onlya single device. By the implementation of this me-thod, which can bebased on the future oriented near field communication (NFC)technology, advantages for bothsecurity and service levelcanbe created for all involved stakeholders, such as passengers, airlines, airports and authorities. | en_US |
