Abstract

The recent advances in technology and the modern life style make spending long times in an indoor environment inevitable. In areas where there is high temperatures and humidity as well as pollution, this causes serious health hazards to people. This work provides a solution for continuous monitoring for indoor air quality which is normally done using air sampling and lab analysis. The proposed system consists of a core microcontroller that acquires data from several sensors such as temperature, humidity, CO2, CO, VCO, and LPG. The microcontroller records the acquired data on an online database. The recoded data can be seen and analyzed using a specialized application built for this purpose. The app keeps reading the data and alerts the user if certain levels of concentration are exceeding the limits set by the user. The current system was successful in providing a continuous monitoring system which can provide the means to check the air quality and providing an integrated solution that provide several parameters to be measured which indicates the quality of indoor air.
