dc.description.abstract This commentary aims to provide a concise scientific review of the major treatments of malaria and to assess the biological mechanisms of action of these treatments at the molecular level, old ones, as well as those in the development and trial phases. We also discuss the current trends in developing treatments and vaccines based on a clear understanding of the biological observations associated with Plasmodium spp. and its response mechanisms to these drugs.
